Master the UCAT
Join Dr. Kim's UCAT preparation program to excel in your medical school entrance exams.
What is the UCAT?
The University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) is a
standardised, computer-based test used by many
medical and dental schools as part of their
admissions process. The UCAT is designed to assess
a range of mental abilities identified by universities
as important for success in healthcare professions.
This section primarily contains clinical scenarios, along with some real-life situations, to assess your responses. You will rank a series of answers from most to least appropriate.
This section consists of 11 text excerpts, each with 4 questions, designed to assess
reading comprehension. The passages cover a diverse range of topics.
This section tests your ability to make judgments based on a wide range of
information. You will be asked to select the best answer from the options provided,
using the given information.
This section tests your ability to analyse numerical information, similar to GCSE
Mathematics. You will have access to an onscreen calculator to help you arrive at
the correct answer.
This section requires you to identify patterns and relationships between a
series of shapes. The questions are designed to test your ability to predict the
next shape based on the given pattern.

CRACKING THE UCAT: IT’S ALL ABOUT STRATEGY
"There's simply not enough time. How is it possible to complete all these questions?"
At first glance, the UCAT might seem straightforward: a reading comprehension section here, a math section there, and an abstract reasoning section with shapes and patterns. Sounds easy, right? Think again. Successful UCAT test-takers know that treating the UCAT like any
other exam will leave you struggling at the halfway point while others race to the finish line.
“There’s simply not enough time!” students often
lament. “How can anyone complete all these
questions?”
The truth is, the UCAT is not just a test of knowledge; it’s a test of strategy and skill. When students find the UCAT challenging, it’s usually
because they’re approaching it with the wrong mindset—like trying to cut steak with a butter knife. To excel, you need the right strategies.
That’s why we created our strategy-based UCAT course. Our program is designed to equip you with the tools and techniques to tackle the UCAT
efficiently and effectively, ensuring you’re prepared for the battle ahead.
